About the Knoll Platner Collection:
The collection, designed in the 1960s, is known for its complex production processes, requiring hundreds of steel rods and over 1,000 welds for some chairs. The chair's sculptural base, likened to a sheaf of wheat, creates a unique architectural interplay between interior and exterior space and contributes to the elegant, modern design. Platner described his work as a balance between decorative, graceful designs and technological innovations.
